She is continuing to research and create wearable technologies that focus on enhancing the quality of life, interpersonal communication, and community well-being. She specializes in incorporating touch-sensitive (conductive) fabrics (eTextiles) into her designs to enable interactive experiences that generate sounds or other programmed responses.
Awarded a 4-year scholarship from EPSRC for her PhD in Media & Arts Technology, Queen Mary University of London, UK. MSc in Creative Technology (Distinction) from Leeds Beckett University, UK.
Projects have received both Arts Council, UK, and British Council, UK, funding.
Christine is also the author of The Ultimate Guide to informed wearables, from Prototype to Purpose, which is a hands-on guide for using a participatory design process to create wearable technology using Arduino-based electronics.
Master wearable technology with over 50 activities using Arduino and ESP32 to build useful, stylish, and intelligent wearable devices and create interactive circuits that react to us and our environment.

This wearable has 2 sleeves with conductive fabric strip along it. These are connected to a Circuit Playground board that controls musical sounds. Both people can ‘play’ their sleeves – making music together – but it will only play if the conductive strips are touching!
